WE’RE CONNECTED LOCALLY

What Does it Cost?

The City Farm is free to enter, but a £5 donation is encouraged every time you visit — just pop it into the donation bin or use the “tap to donate” facility by the gates.

But please don’t worry if you can’t afford a donation: Everyone is welcome!

To ensure a safe visit, please download and read the Industry Code of Practice “Preventing or Controlling Ill Health from Animal Contact at Visitor Attractions”

Your donations enable us to offer targeted activities for those at most need within our communities and to maintain green spaces for farm animals and wildlife accessible to all.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor or make a one time donation HERE

If you’d like to find out more about accessing the Farm during the week or getting involved in one of our volunteer projects or services for adults or young people, please send us an email on office@swcityfarm.co.uk.

Getting to the City Farm

Learn How to get here in many different ways

There are several ways of reaching us – the easiest is to walk or cycle through the railway tunnel on Mina Road, or alternatively take one of the footpaths running alongside the Allotments or Narroways nature reserve.

Several bus routes stop within walking distance of the Farm, making it easy to reach us from across Bristol.

Nearby Bus Stops:

  • Mina Road / York Road
Served by the Number 25 bus, which runs from Bristol city centre to Fishponds, passing St Werburghs. Get off at Sevier Street / St Werburghs and enjoy a short walk down Mina Road to the Farm.

  • Ashley Down Road / Sommerville Road
Buses like the Number 70 and 73 stop here, offering links from north Bristol, including Gloucester Road and Filton. From the stop, it’s a 10–15 minute walk through Ashley Down or via Mina Road.

Plan Your Journey:
For up-to-date routes and live departure times, visit Travelwest or check with local operators such as First Bus.

St Werburghs City Farm is easily accessible by train, with two nearby stations offering convenient connections.

Closest Train Stations:

  • Ashley Down Station (approx. 10 minute walk)
Opened in 2024, Ashley Down Station provides a direct link to central Bristol and the wider rail network. From the station, it’s a pleasant walk through Ashley Down and Narroways Nature Reserve towards the Farm.

  • Montpelier Station (approx. 15-20 minute walk)
Located on the Severn Beach Line, Montpelier Station is a short walk away. From here, follow the path down St Andrew’s Road, turn onto Mina Road, and you’ll find us nestled in the heart of St Werburghs.

Plan Your Journey:
Check train times and service updates on the National Rail website or use travel apps such as Trainline or GWR.

Drive down to the end of Mina Road and take the first left after the graffiti tunnel onto Watercress Road.

Parking can be quite limited on Watercress Road, so often parking before the tunnel and walking two minutes to the main Farm site, past our Community Garden, is a better option.

Our Boiling Wells site is further down on a private road, so you definitely need to park your car near the Farm then walk down the lane to access this site.
